EMC My Documentum for Desktop (formerly File Share Services or FSS), part of the EMC My Documentum Suite, allows organizations to access the EMC Documentum repository with a lightweight client from both Windows and Macintosh environments.

EMC My Documentum for Desktop is essentially an extension to the desktop that exposes a lightweight set of content management capabilities, allowing content to be opened and saved directly to the repository through a certified set of applications/authoring tools. It supports: drag-and-drop access; double-clicking on content and launching it directly into the native application that created it; versioning; locking; caching and content commit capabilities (automatic, manual, or scheduled); and metadata access directly from a user's desktop. It has also been specifically certified for Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
